Women went to Dr. Kermit Gosnell to end their pregnancies. Many came away with life-threatening infections and punctured organs; some still had fetal parts inside them when they arrived at nearby hospitals in dire need of emergency care.
Prosecutors described Gosnell’s clinic as “a house of horrors,” where viable babies were killed with scissors, fetal remains were kept in jars and freezers, and dirty medical equipment was operated by unlicensed, often untrained and unsupervised employees. Gosnell himself was never certified in obstetrics and gynecology, only family practice.
Gosnell, 70, is jailed without bail and charged with eight counts of murder in the deaths of one patient and seven viable babies.

The upcoming trial involves the 1988 killing of 17-year-old Carmen Lopez, who was six months pregnant at the time. Her boyfriend, Miguel Roman, was convicted of her murder and served 20 years of a 60-year prison sentenced before a judge set him free in December 2008 based on the DNA test results. A judge dismissed Roman’s case and formally exonerated him in 2009.
A Massachusetts woman charged with attempted murder for withholding cancer treatment from her autistic son testified Friday that she did not give him at least five months of chemotherapy medications because the side effects made him so sick she was afraid the treatments would kill him.

On Tuesday, a longtime camp employee committed suicide after being accused of molesting a boy there in the 1980s.
Others have said they were abused at the camp since Brown’s revelation.

“I hung a cat by a leash, which was fastened around its neck,” Kracht wrote. “The cat died.”
He continued: “I caused the death of a dog by falling on it. The dog died from numerous internal injuries.”
Last July 30, Kracht’s six children were found crying after seeing their family cat hanging by a leash from their home’s ceiling.

Animal care volunteers were forced to don white protective suits and wear breathing masks against the intense ammonia smell inside the residence. The volunteers spent the day rescuing the frightened felines, who had reportedly been living there for up to two years.
GA- RABID RACCOON BITE MAN AFTER 2 DOGS ATTACKED IT! This is the 5th confirmed case of rabies in 2011.
The incident happened at Moss Oak Farm in the Athens Street area of Lula, said Officer David Jones with Hall County Animal Control.
One of the dogs had the raccoon in its mouth when the man, whose identity was not released, tried to retrieve the animal.
“A gentleman reached up and tried to snatch the raccoon out of the dog’s mouth, and when he did that it bit him,” Jones said.
