Eight years after he’s accused of slicing through a kitchen window screen with a knife and whisking away a young girl in the middle of the night, the man charged in the abduction of Elizabeth Smart is headed to trial in federal court.

Harris plans to travel to Africa in March to launch a program that will pay HIV-positive women in Kenya $40 to have an IUD — intrauterine birth control — implanted.
Barbara Harris’ group has publicly made the statement:
“DON’T LET PREGNANCY GET IN THE WAY OF YOUR CRACK HABIT”!
Does that statement sound like it came from a decent human being to you???
What this woman, Barbara Harris is doing, I find to be morally reprehensible and straight out of Nazi Germany. There are a lot of people on drugs who successfully get off them and go on to have children that are happy and well adjusted. If Barbara Harris had her way, these children would never be born! They would never enter this Earth and go on to have friends, get married and share their special talents and love with the world. And why? Because some fat woman named

decided their mothers weren’t good enough to have them. Despite her saying it is, I’m not even sure if what she’s doing is legal. Barbara Harris is encouraging drug addicts to undergo a medical procedure. Technically, she’s giving out medical advice without a license. That’s illegal.
Also, if you’re a drug addict, then technically, you’re not in your right state of mind. You’re in no position to decide whether or not you should be castrated to deprive yourself of your God given right to bear children and have descendants. If you’re a drug addict and somebody offers you $300 to undergo castration, you’re going to take that $300 and use it to buy drugs – because you’re not in your right state of mind. So it seems to me that this woman is coercing people who are mentally ill to undergo a medical procedure with permanent consequences.
What about the drug addict’s parents? How are they going to feel when their child successfully gets off drugs, cleaned up their life and now can’t bring a grandchild into this world?

Here are some quotes from the letter:
An incentive-based program that targets vulnerable populations is inherently coercive. CRACK’s (Project Prevention.Org) approach is based in eugenic thinking, which emphasizes that society’s “undesirables” should not have the ability to procreate…..
(You’re) referring women who are immuno-compromised via their substance abuse to “services” of sterilization or problematic hormonal methods…
By promoting birth control methods that do not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, CRACK’s activities may actually increase a woman’s risk of contracting HIV or other STDs…
The ideas you promulgate are based on the assumptions that 1) women who are addicted to substances will be perpetually addicted; 2) treatment options for women who are addicted are not worthy of being pursued and; 3) drug addicted women are expendable.
I think some prosecutor should take a look at the legality of what she’s doing. (dispensing medical advice without a license and coercing mentally ill people into sterilization) Also some former drug addict who has successfully cleaned up their life should sue Barbara Harris of Project Prevention for taking advantage of them while they were mentally ill and depriving them of descendants. Also, the doctors who operated on mentally ill people should be sued also.
Maybe somebody should’ve payed Barbara Harris’ mother $300 to be sterilized?

Lengthy court battles ensued in Indiana and Ohio, resulting in an Ohio Supreme Court decision this year that Wyrembek should have custody of Grayson.
