Jada Justice, 2, Engelica Castillo, 19, Timothy Tkachik, 24 I remember when this story first happened last year. It was big and it made national news. Now that the trial has started, I’m shocked to see the national media isn’t covering it. Especially due to the horrific allegations involved. Actually, I shouldn’t be to surprised. This is usually how it goes. A case makes national news when it first breaks then the media stops reporting on it. In any case, I’ll be covering it.

Engelica Castillo was 2 year old Jada Justice’s cousin. Allegations: Both Engelica Castillo & boyfriend, Timothy Tkachik were purported heroin users. According to affadavit, Tkachik saw Castillo hitting Jada & pulling her hair! Jada wouldn’t cry so Castillo spanked her even more. At one point she slapped Jada & her head fell against a table. They found her dead in the back seat of their car while they were driving to get more heroin. They considered burning her body. They ended up putting the child’s body in a bathtub filled with water & concrete, then used a space heater to harden the concrete so the baby was entombed within the concrete! They then dumped little Jada’s body, encased in concrete, into a swamp! Here’s an older article with BACKGROUND INFO on the case.

Here’s an ARTICLE FROM THURSDAY where boyfriend, Timothy Tkachik, testified that he held Jada Justice while Jada’s cousin beat her with a belt & he knuckled the little girl on the top of the head! Here’s a quote from that article by wlsam.com:

(Timothy Tkachik) said the toddler had made a mess by getting into the refrigerator and getting out strawberries and powdered drink mix the day before. Castillo yelled at the child and spanked her.

The next morning, Tkachik said Castillo got up at about 10:30 a.m., and discovered Jada had gotten into cabinets and spilled syrup and Hawaiian Punch. Tkachik said he could hear Castillo spanking the girl and “roughing her up.” At lunch time, Castillo again became irritated because Jada was feeding her food to the dogs, so she stood her in the corner of her bedroom and began cleaning up the mess.

When Castillo discovered Jada playing with toys and sitting down instead of standing in the corner, she spanked the girl again and grabbed her by the arms to stand her up. He saw her grabbing the child by her hair and “shaking her around.” At one point, Castillo hit the child and caused her to strike her head on a table in the bedroom, leaving a small cut above her right eye. Tkachik said Castillo asked him to hold Jada while she beat her with a belt on her bottom.
