Today, May 28th 2010 is the 1st anniversary of Child Abuse Headlines.Com It was 1 year ago today that I started this website.

This website was inspired by and dedicated to Nixzmary Brown. Nixzmary Brown was a 7 year old murder victim from Brooklyn, NY. She was killed by her stepfather for taking a strawberry Jello Pudding snack out of her family’s fridge and over a broken computer printer. The mom, Nixzaliz Santiago and stepdad, Cesar Rodriguez would keep little Nixzmary imprisoned in her room and tied up to chair for hours on end everyday. Duct tape was put over her mouth so they wouldn’t have to listen to her. She was being starved and became emaciated to a skeletal looking 36 pounds – the weight of a 4 year old. She was forced to eat cat food and use a cat’s litter box for a toilet. If all of this wasn’t bad enough, stepdad, Cesar Rodriguez would beat her everyday with a black leather belt & rape her orally all while mom, Nixzaliz Santiago, turned a blind eye. I attended both Nixzmary’s stepdad & mom’s murder trials from Jan. 2008 up until Nov. 2008. I devoted almost a whole year of my life to this case. After both trials were over, I wondered what was going on in other states in reference to child abuse news. Who were the other “Nixzmary Browns” in other states? Since there was no one place on the internet for me to go get daily child abuse news, for every state, from all across the country, I decided to create that place, and on May 28th 2009, Child Abuse Headlines.Com was born.

When I first started this site I would spend up to 12 hours a day finding stories to post! Eventually I got it down to about 4 hours. Give or take. I was horrified at was I was finding everyday. That monsters were all over society, creeping and crawling and taking care of children! They were starving, burning, torturing, beating and even raping infants!

Here’s a look back at the very first story I covered: Tyrus Toribio. Tyrus Toribio was a 3 year old little boy from New Mexico who was allegedly suffocated by his mom. (I say allegedly because I don’t know if she’s been to trial or what became of the case) Wait until you hear the details. Mom, Tiffany Toribio, took her 3 year old son to the park, put her hand over his nose and mouth and suffocated him. Then she had second thoughts and performed CPR, bringing him back to life. So now he’s alive and fine. Then she reconsidered and suffocated him to death again! A woman taking her son to the park spotted a child’s lime green sneaker sticking out of the sand. It turned out to be the dead body of little Tyrus Toribio. Reportedly killed twice by his mom. She allegedly killed him once, brought him back to life with CPR only to kill him again! The second story I covered was even more horrific than the first one. A drug addict dad named, Angel Vidal Mendoza bit out his 4 year old son’s eyeball then started hacking his own legs with an ax!

This was a taste of things to come in what sort of stories would be posted on this website. It’s mind boggling and crazy that people do these things.

In the one year that this site has been on the air, I’m pleased to see that I’ve had visitors from every continent on Earth except Antartica. There are people that read this site from all different countries in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia. I never thought in a million years that this website would go international in only one year but apparently it has. I was doing some research on Antartica and found out that only researchers live there in shifts. Of course I won’t be satisfied until I get people from Antartica on here.

I’d still like to see my U.S. readership go up in terms of numbers. That’s something I’m trying to work on.

I have no clue what the future holds for Child Abuse Headlines.Com. Despite the long hours it takes updating this site, the “oh my Gods” when I’m reading some of the articles and occasional tears at some of the stories – for now, I have no plans to stop.

This site is like a rollercoaster of child abuse horror stories. Won’t you join me for the ride?
