VA – TODDLER FOUND WANDERING ON SIDE OF ROAD!
Colonial Heights, VA. – A good samaratin found a toddler wearing only a diaper, wandering along West Rosyln Road which is the access road to Interstate 95!
The man, Kenneth Jarrett, stayed with the boy until another good samaritan , a woman, gave the toddler a t-shirt and something to drink and stayed with him until police arrived.
“Officers found the boy’s father, 24 year old Nicholas Vanover, at his home on Pinehurst Avenue. Police say the child slipped through a fence and wandered a good block and a half before ending up on the busy road.”
The father is being charged with child neglect, a misdemeanor and is due in court next week.
The father should’ve made sure that there were no openings in the fence for the baby to slip through and should’ve been watching the baby and not leaving a little toddler unsupervised. That being said, I hope they don’t go to hard on this father. This seems like an accident. Why deprive the child of his father for X amount of months (I don’t know what the sentence would be) for an accident? Lots of parents have accidents, and they’re not thrown into jail for it.
